Frequently Asked Questions
-
What does the APRC do?
The APRC is a center of free resources. We offer free pregnancy confirmation services including medical-grade urine pregnancy tests, limited 1st trimester ultrasounds, and limited STI testing. We also have a number of community referrals including, but not limited to area OB/GYNs, counselling services, and parenting/childcare classes.
-
What are your COVID-19 procedures?
Under the direction of our medical team, we have implemented policies and procedures to keep the center disinfected at all times. Screening procedures are in place and include screening at the front door and additional screening in the center. Be prepared for your appointment to take more time than normal.
-
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
You will need to bring a photo ID in order to best be served.
-
What can I expect when I come to my appointment?
When you first arrive to either our main center or mobile unit, you will be greeted by one of our friendly staff members or volunteers. You will first need to fill out some digital forms for initial intake, including two forms which give us permission to serve you. Once completed, you will either be asked for a urine sample or be taken back to begin your intake with a nurse or other volunteer depending on how busy we are the day of your appointment. After meeting with a nurse, depending on how far along you may be, if your pregnancy test was positive, and your medical history, the nurse will perform a free ultrasound to confirm the gestational age of the fetus. Once completed, the nurse will give you any necessary referrals and may schedule you for a return appointment, as needed.

How much do your services cost? Do you accept insurance?
All of the services provided at the APRC are totally free to you. Because of this, we have no need to accept insurance. Regardless of your financial situation, we will serve you.
